Can I drive with my brake lights out?

It's best not to. When your brake lights are faulty or out, you can't give an accurate signal in time when braking, seriously jeopardizing your driving safety and you can be pulled over by a traffic cop. So as soon as you notice that your brake lights are faulty, make sure you install new bulbs immediately.

Is it illegal to use LED brake lights?

No, in fact, many modern vehicles are equipped from the factory with LED brake lights as an upgrade to the taillight assembly, LED lights are brighter and more responsive than halogen lights to help drivers following you quickly realize your vehicle is braking.

It is important to note that you need to avoid certain colors, as most states require any lights visible from the back of the vehicle to be exclusively red or amber.

What color LED brake light bulb should I choose?

Brake lights should normally shine a red light to ensure that they are clearly seen in varying weather and lighting conditions and to act as a warning signal.

Although both white and red LED bulbs can shine a red light through the red lens of the tail light assembly, the red LED bulb makes the red light more visible. This advantage is demonstrated when installed in tail light assembly either with red lenses, clear lenses, or smoked lenses. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you choose red LED bulbs to replace your factory brake lights for optimal visibility and safety!

One brake light bulb has failed, so should I replace both?

Yes. Even though only one brake light bulb is burned out, it is wise to replace both in pairs at the same time. Because both have the same lifespan and deterioration. In all likelihood, the opposite lamp capsule has degenerated considerably and will burn out fairly soon, as well. To prevent sudden burnout while driving, we recommend that you replace both brake light bulbs in a timely manner and upgrade with LED bulbs that last longer and are of better quality than halogen.

Can I replace my halogen brake light bulbs with LED bulbs myself?

Yes, AUXITO LED brake light bulbs are all designed 1:1 to the original halogen size, simple plug and play, no need for any wire breaking modifications, and you can do it yourself in less than ten minutes! It is recommended that you check your car's owner's manual before you begin, it helps by giving you a diagram of where everything is, making the brake light replacement process even easier.

How to replace a brake light bulb?

1. Buy the correct replacement bulb. You can determine this by looking at the model's owner's manual or the original halogen light bulb size, or by using the AUXITO filter.

2. Determine the location of the broken bulb.

3. Replacing a brake light bulb can be done either by accessing the bulb through the trunk or by removing the taillight assembly, so choose the method that is most convenient and best for you.

4. Remove the burned-out bulb (usually just simply twist the bulb socket slightly counterclockwise)

5. Install the new bulb

6. Test the brake light

Why is my brake light flashing?

If your LED brake light bulb is just installed and you have a flickering problem, this is a decoding problem due to the low power of the LED bulb, which is not compatible with the vehicle, we recommend you install a resistor decoder to solve the problem.

What should I do if one of the brake lights doesn't brighten when installing LED brake light bulbs?

If one of the brake light bulbs doesn't come on, you need to check if it's the bulb or a problem with the socket or wiring.

Swap the driver's and passenger's brake light bulbs. If the same bulb still does not brighten after swapping, it is likely that the bulb is damaged and you will need to contact customer service for a replacement. If it's the same side bulb that doesn't come on after swapping, there's a problem with the socket or wiring on that side, which could include a socket whose connections are dirty or corroded or one whose wiring has become worn to the point where it's only making an intermittent connection. You'll need to visit your local dealership to have this fixed by a professional.

Are tail lights the same as brake lights?

No, they are not the same, especially because of the functional application of these two lights on your vehicle. Tail lights are engaged when you turn on your headlights or when your parking brake is on, whereas the brake lights will light up immediately when you apply pressure to the brakes. On most vehicles, the tail lights are red and the brake lights are a more luminous red.
